This is a vivid example of the necessity and importance of OSINT activities that can be presented publicly. Our team found information about the involvement in collaboration and subversive activities of Mr Yaroslav Romanovich Samarik, born on 04.11.1998, a former resident of Antratsyt, Luhansk region, with a Russian passport.
Samarik arrived in Ukraine via Belarus and stayed with relatives in Kharkiv. On social media, he actively supported the occupation of the Luhansk region and was actively interested in the technical armament of military equipment. We learned from social media that he came to Kharkiv to obtain a Ukrainian passport.
We passed all the data to the criminal investigation officers of the Kharkiv Regional Police, who promptly acted and detained the said person. During the arrest, materials indicating his preparation for sabotage were seized from Samarik.
